On July 7, 2025, the opening ceremony of the Book Exhibition on Chinese Modernization was held at the China Book Corner at the headquarters of the Hungarian Workers’ Party. Chinese Ambassador to Hungary Gong Tao who attended and addressed the event presented a donation of Chinese books. Mr. Gyula Thürmer, President of the Hungarian Workers’ Party attended and addressed the gathering of over 30 participants.

Ambassador Gong Tao gave an in-depth introduction to the great journey of the Communist Party of China (CPC) leading the Chinese people in advancing Chinese modernization towards the goals of building a great modern socialist country and achieving national rejuvenation. He affirmed the CPC’s readiness to work together with the Hungarian Workers’ Party and other political parties around the world to jointly safeguard the foundation of world peace and stability, and to jointly open up new horizons for human development and progress. 

President Thürmer stated that the CPC answers the questions of the times with theoretical innovation, and Hungary draws inspiration from the process of Chinese modernization. The Hungarian Workers’ Party is committed to showcasing the theoretical foundation and practical achievements of socialism with Chinese characteristics, stimulating the interest of Hungarian youth in China’s accomplishments, and building a bridge for the exchange of political thoughts between Hungary and China.
