On June 6, the Hungary Regional Final of the 18th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students was held in Budapest. Chinese Ambassador to Hungary, Mr. Gong Tao attended the event and delivered a speech. More than 100 people, including Chinese and Hungarian directors of the six Confucius Institutes in Hungary, contestants, their instructors, and parents, took part in the event.

Ambassador Gong noted that China-Hungary relations are at a historic high, offering unprecedented opportunities for Chinese language education in Hungary and for young people who speak Chinese. He encouraged the students to find joy in learning Chinese and to use the Chinese language as a bridge to foster friendship between China and Hungary. He also welcomed students to pursue further studies in China and to experience the country firsthand.

Ms. Erdélyi Zsuzsanna, Principal of the Hungarian-Chinese Bilingual School, stated that the "Chinese Bridge" competition is a festival for Chinese language learners, where each participant has the opportunity to fully showcase their Chinese language skills, knowledge, and talents.
